Captain (Rear Admiral Select) Craig Bone, Chief of Staff
and Lieutenant Commander Chris Curatilo, Marine Response
both with the Fourteenth Coast Guard District visited to
the Hawaii Spill Center (HSC) on September 1, 2004. Kim Beasley
from the Clean Island Council (CIC), John Seltenright and
Barry Kevan from Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC)
provided them with a tour of the facilities spill response
center and the warehouse. The CIC has provided Hawaii with
response capability since 1972. When MSRC arrived in Hawaii
in 1993, this provided the opportunity for a joint operating
agreement between CIC and MSRC, which made the Hawaii Spill
Center (HSC) a reality. In the past decade, the Center has
grown in size and capability. It serves our Member Companies
and the entire Hawaii community.
