MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS SUITES

The Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) has six Mobile Communications Suites (MCS) located within the United States. Each Mobile Communications Suite contains the following: a 48 foot trailer consisting of the Mobile Communications Suite; satellite platform; 35 kilowatt generator; Ku band satellite terminal that can provide up to twenty-four incoming/outgoing voice trunks; a telephone system that can support up to one hundred stations or extensions distributed throughout a command center; fifty telephone sets that are included with each communications unit and additional telephones may be procured locally; fully integrated radio system with three operator consoles; a radio system that consists of two VHF business band, two VHF marine, one VHF aircraft, one UHF base station and one HF marine single side band radio where the antennas are mounted on a 52-foot pneumatic mast that is attached to the MCS trailer; various portable radios are also carried with each communications suite including: four VHF repeaters; two UHF repeaters; three portable marine mobile stations; three VHF business band mobile stations; three UHF mobile stations; portable VHF business/VHF marine hand-held radios and one VHF aviation base station and two aviation hand-held radios. And each suite carries spare parts for the above-referenced equipment. The Mobile Communications Suite can be transported either by air or ground and can be shipped through out the Northern Hemisphere within hours of contracting or mobilization. These suites are self-supporting and can be made fully operational within four to six hours upon arrival to their destination. MSRC has deployable satellite data terminals with each Communication Suite that can provide high-speed access to the Internet. One system is co-located with each Mobile Communications Suite.
