The fast response vessel is intended as a first response near shore asset with on board skimming and recovery capability. The boat is a rugged commercial working vessel that can be activated quickly, get on scene rapidly, operate independently and provides a quick initial response to small and medium sized spills.
In addition to its installed capabilities, the boat can also be used together with MSRC's shallow Water Barge System (SBS) and is fitted with push knees.
Additionally, the boat is outfitted with offloading pumps for handling and transferring recovered oil to external temporary storage (i.e., OSRV, OSRB, SBS, Temporary Storage Bladder (TSB), etc.). The boat is also equipped with a crane and deck capstans for handling and deploying boom and other spill response equipment.
