On September 16, 2004, the Central Contra Costa Sanitary
District (CCCSD) Board of Directors awarded the MSRC Office
in Concord, California the Pollution Prevention Award. MSRC
was recognized for educating their employees about the importance
of the water quality issues. For example, MSRC employees
wash their vehicles without the use of detergents and they
use environmentally friendly methods for cleaning equipment
and parts. Keeping oil and other contaminants out of the
environment, including recycling used oil, antifreeze and
filters. They were also recognized for taking the extra steps
in minimizing or eliminating harmful discharges into the
local sewer or storm drain systems. Congratulations for a
